SEMINOLE, Texas — On Tuesday, representatives from The United Family joined city officials and other community representatives to break ground on a new United Supermarkets grocery store and fuel station in the Seminole community. This store will replace the current location already in the market and is slated to open in 2027.
Sidney Hopper, president of The United Family, commented on the company’s opportunity to break ground on the new location and the support of the Seminole community.
“We are thrilled to announce a new United Supermarkets in Seminole,” Hopper said. “It is always exciting to break ground on a new store, but this one is special because we know it will bring an enhanced grocery shopping experience in a larger footprint to a community that has already supported us for a long time. We love Seminole and, our team can’t wait to open the doors to this beautiful new building.”
Located at the southeast corner of Hobbs Highway and 21st Street, the new 49,000 sq. ft. location will be built from the ground up and will offer top-notch guest service. Features in the new store include mainstay services like a full-service pharmacy with drive-through; mobile grocery ordering, pickup and delivery; a fresh in-store bakery; full-service floral with delivery; and a full-service meat counter.
Seminole guests will also experience expanded services in this new location, such as a full-service deli with fresh, hot foods, ReadyMeals, and a dining area, including new items across the departments. Perhaps best of all, with the addition of the United Express, guests can redeem rewards points on fuel for up to a $1 off per gallon.
“We are proud to welcome this new, larger United Supermarkets grocery store, and we are especially grateful to the Seminole Economic Development Corporation board members for their hard work and dedication in making this vision a reality,” said Mayor Chet Clark, City of Seminole. “It keeps our dollars local, strengthens our economy and improves our quality of life. This is a meaningful step forward for our community, and something we can be proud of!”
“We are proud and honored that United Supermarkets has decided to expand its footprint in Seminole,” said Kevin Petty, president of SEDC. “We are excited that this will bring additional products and services for the consumers and provide employment opportunities for those in our community. Our community is blessed with a vibrant and growing economy, and this expansion will be beneficial to all of us.”
