United Supermarkets & Mrs Baird’s Bread honor six Amarillo area teachers as

Teachers on the Rise for December and January

AMARILLO, Texas — The United Family and Mrs Baird’s Bread announced the December and January winners of the twelfth annual Teachers On The Rise program. Since the launch of the program in August, nominations have poured in from students and families across the High Plains, highlighting how teachers go above and beyond the call of duty, deserving special recognition.

Congratulations to our winners from December: Donda Tosh of San Jacinto Elementary School (AISD), Autumn Gordon of Bowie Middle School 6th Grade Campus (AISD), and Major Diego Barela of Tascosa High School (AISD).

Congratulations to our winners from January: Brandy Dodson of Coronado Elementary School (AISD), Lizzi Manfredi of Bonham Middle School (AISD), and Rachel Hall of Canyon High School (CISD).

“We are thrilled for this round of winners,” said Abie Rampy, director of public relations for The United Family. “Teachers serve such a vital purpose in our communities and they are incredibly deserving of recognition. With only one semester remaining, we encourage students to keep nominating their favorite teachers every month!”

“We know great things go on in area classrooms year-round,” said Shane Sumrow, the program’s director. “That’s why we accept nominations through the end of school. So now is a great time for students and families to let us know how educators go above and beyond to make an impact.”

Winning teachers receive a $100 United Supermarkets gift card, a $100 American Express gift card from Tyler’s Barbecue in Amarillo, a $100 Amazon gift card from Horse Creek Boutique in Spearman for classroom supplies, and a gift basket full of Mrs Baird’s goodies. The students who nominate a winning teacher also receive a $50 American Express gift card. Teachers On The Rise is also sponsored by  Kids Incorporated, which hosts the program’s year-end banquet.
