LUBBOCK, Texas — Beginning Tuesday, September 1, all United Family locations across Texas and New Mexico will begin raising funds and spreading awareness about muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases during the MDA Aisles of Smiles donate-at-the-register campaign benefitting the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
From September 1 through September 15, guests of United Supermarkets, Market Street, Albertsons Market, and Amigos can add any dollar amount to their grocery bill during the 14-day donate-at-the-register campaign, with all proceeds directly benefiting the MDA.
“This is a meaningful opportunity for us and our guests to help support MDA’s research,” said Chris James, market VP of operations for The United Family. “The Aisles of Smiles campaign has a profound impact on so many people, and we want to thank all of our guests for supporting this initiative at the register.”
Founded in 1950, MDA was started by a group of people committed to improving the lives of those living with neuromuscular conditions. To this day, the organization continues to pursue its mission of freeing families from the life-threatening effects of muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular conditions.
