The United Family hosts Coca-Cola America 250 Celebration Pop-Up
LUBBOCK, Texas — Amigos grocery stores across the region will host health fairs for guests on Saturday, August 8, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The first 50 attendees at each location will receive a complimentary drawstring bag with free product samples.
With a new school year right around the corner, Amigos locations want to help their communities get off to a great start by hosting a free health fair for guests. The health fair will offer free screenings including glucose tests, blood pressure checks, and total cholesterol screenings. The Health and Wellness team at The United Family has also prepared informational materials to help guests learn how to make healthier choices for their lifestyle.
In addition, Amigos pharmacy teams will be on hand to facilitate immunizations for guests who need them, most of which are covered under commercial insurance plans. Each location will also host a variety of health-minded community partners to provide information about the health
services they provide.
“Our annual Health and Wellness Fairs are an important way for us to support the communities we serve,” said Brenda Garcia, health and wellness manager and registered dietitian for The United Family. “By offering free basic health screenings, such as blood pressure and cholesterol checks, we help guests take proactive steps toward better health. The events also provide community health and wellness partners with a platform to share information about services that many guests may not otherwise know are available.”
The Lubbock Amigos location will also welcome a special appearance by Notorious, mascot of the Lubbock Matadors, while the Amarillo Amigos location will feature a special appearance by RUCKUS, mascot of the Amarillo Sod Poodles.
